Sharing Economy

Also described as the: as gig economy, platform economy, access economy, or collaborative consumption – the sharing economy is the phenomenon of peer-to-peer-based obtaining, giving, or sharing the access to goods and services, coordinated through community-based online services.

This collaborative economy places value on a combination of reputation, community, and shared access.

With the network of computers and devices predicted to be as many as 50 billion sensors mounted in anything from refrigerators to cars to MRI scanners by the end of 2020, the sharing economy represents one of the largest and fastest growing markets in the world.

The international sharing economy reached about $15 billion in 2014, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), projects it’s on track to reach $335 billion by 2025.
